I am the author of 150 professional publications, including the Handbook of Counseling Boys and Adolescent Males (published by Sage), Counseling Troubled Boys (published by Routledge), and When Boys Become Parents: Adolescent Fatherhood in America (published by Rutgers University Press).  Many of my publications are focused on challenging the deficit perspective on boys and men that dominates the social psychology literature.  As a result, I write extensively about male-friendly approaches to psychotherapy with boys and men, positive masculinity, and on how notions of noble notions of what it means to be a man are passed on from one generation of men to the next.  I also do workshops on treating masked depression and preventing suicide in males and psychotherapy with boys and men who have been sexually abused. I am honored and grateful to be a part of this network, and I welcome hearing and learning from other members.
