Helping male survivors of sexual abuse

September 13, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

A talk by psychotherapist Sarah Van Gogh on helping male survivors of sexual abuse. Sexual abuse can happen to boys or men of any age. Sarah has extensive experience in this field and would like to share with other therapists something about how she works.

The talk will explore:
– effective support for men who have experienced any form of sexual violation, and how transformative that good support can be for male survivors;
– why this issue is so important both for individual male survivors and for those around them
– and why it is also so important for our society, where there is so much collective denial about the root cause of much male violence, mental health problems and suicide.

Sarah has blogged for the Male Psychology Network [here]. Her book is available at a discount to readers of the blog.

Tickets are required. They are free and are available via Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/helping-male-survivors-of-sexual-abuse-tickets-47919179556
